The Elbe is a natural harbor in Hamburg with direct access from the sea, and the most convenient is its southern shore, opposite the districts of Sankt Pauli and Altona. The multitude of waterways, rivers and streams, tributaries of the Elbe are spanned by more than 2,500 bridges.
